Beauty is not just skin deep

As a younger person, I used to believe that beauty revolved around makeup, fashion, and high-end skincare products. Like countless other girls, I would often gaze at flawless skin on models in advertisements, hoping that a magical cream would finally grant me my dream complexion. This pursuit for the perfect skincare regimen seemed never-ending, a desire that remained unfulfilled.

However, with the wisdom of hindsight, I now realize that my younger self’s actions were contradictory to my ultimate goal. I consistently deprived myself of sleep, neglected a healthy diet, and subjected myself to stress due to mood swings. Despite these detrimental habits, I unrealistically believed that a mere face cream could make me beautiful. It was an impossible mission.

Eventually, I came to understand that true beauty is an inside-out endeavor. The foundation of beauty lies within a healthy body, upon which we can build additional enhancements. I learned this lesson after spending copious amounts of money on legendary skincare products, only to witness disappointment instead of magic. Now, don’t get me wrong—using quality skincare products is vital for maintaining healthy skin. However, without establishing a solid foundation first, investing in such products becomes a futile expenditure.

“You are what you eat.” Diet and eating habits serve as the fundamental elements for building this foundation. I have noticed that many people around me neglect to drink enough water—a seemingly simple act. Some individuals simply can’t tolerate the bland taste of water. Nonetheless, drinking an adequate amount of water is critical for both our overall health and our skin. On average, the adult human body is composed of approximately 60% water. Proper hydration is essential for the optimal functioning of our bodies and aids in the removal of waste products.

If you struggle with drinking plain water, you can consider incorporating lemon water into your routine. Lemon water offers numerous health benefits—it not only provides a refreshing taste but also contains vitamin C, which plays a crucial role in collagen synthesis. Collagen, in turn, contributes to firm and supple skin. Additionally, lemon water supports immune function, as many of you are already aware. Remember to rinse your mouth with plain water after consuming lemon water to prevent potential damage to your teeth over time.

  2. Use a spoon to squeeze out the juice from the lemon slices.

  4. Your lemon water is now ready to be enjoyed.

Drinking enough water marks the crucial first step toward achieving beauty. It is a simple yet effective practice. Although this advice has been imparted for decades, not many individuals have managed to implement it consistently. I encourage you to start incorporating this habit into your routine. Consider purchasing a charming glass jar to make the experience more enjoyable. Let’s start the journey together!
